Barney Fife Impersonator - Jonathan Woodliff

Back in early 2006; actor Jonathan Woodliff was looking for creative ways to do live walk-around entertainment for local festivals within his area when he was shocked by the news of the death of one of his favorite television and movie stars; the great Don Knotts. While saddened by this news; a revelation came to mind! Why not do a tribute to Don by impersonating his title character… Deputy Barney Fife? Woodliff had done the impersonation back in high school; putting an audience of parents and fellow classmates into instant hysterics! Jonathan ordered a uniform, badges, and a hat and hasn’t slowed down since! He has entertained at various festivals, car shows, motorcycle shows, and events around Arkansas as the bumbling deputy and opened for Country Music legends Mel McDaniel, Ronny McDowell, and rockabilly group; “Confederate Railroad”. Five seasons and a good many festivals later; he’s still handing out the phony jay walking violations and other silly misdemeanors.

Jonathan began acting at the age of 12 back in 1994. He has had various stage workshops and training not to mention a long theater list. His credits include well known titles like “Flowers for Algernon”, Agatha Christie’s “The Mouse Trap”, “Wait Until Dark”, “Babes in Toyland”, and “The Foreigner” just to name a few. Also with experience in radio, puppetry, and character sketches; Jonathan has unusual vocal abilities allowing him to impersonate countless characters and do original character voices with great accuracy. His impersonations have been known to put crowds of both adults and children in stitches!

Jonathan offers his services a tribute/ impersonation artist as Mayberry’s own favorite bumbling Deputy; Barney Fife! He’s always a hit whether he’s writing out wardrobe or ice cream carrying violations or showing the bullet he keeps in his left shirt pocket, crowds are always delighted. Hundreds of people have taken their picture with Jonathan as he “nip’s life in the bud”!

If you want young performer with a lot of energy and already years of experience, if you want a walk around comic who will keep festival crowds in constant laughter and if you want a performer with old fashioned class and charm at your next festival, car show, fundraiser, picnic or event; then, Jonathan AKA “Fast Gun Fife” is the man for the job!
